Transforming Mehmood Booti Dumpsite Lahore
RUDA is transforming the Mehmood Booti landfill, located near Ring Road in Lahore, into a green park. This site has been a major dumping ground for decades, causing serious environmental and health issues for nearby residents. The landfill, one of Lahore’s oldest, has long contributed to air and water pollution. By converting it into a green space, RUDA aims to improve the environment, enhance the well-being of the local community, and create economic opportunities. State-of-the-Art Wastewater Management.
Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) near the Ravi River
RUDA is also building advanced wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) near the Ravi River to reduce pollution and improve water quality. These plants will help clean wastewater before it flows into the Ravi river, making the environment healthier and more sustainable.
For years, untreated sewage and industrial waste have polluted the Ravi River, harming aquatic life and nearby communities. The new WWTPs aim to tackle this issue by treating wastewater efficiently. NESPAK engineers are overseeing the projects to ensure they meet high sustainability standards.
